When sailing with your local guide, you can rest assured that you are in the safest of hands. Windrider Expeditions owner and guide, Mat Collicott, is an experienced ocean going skipper, who has had many years sailing in all styles and sizes of vessels.
His love of the ocean began when he was employed to take people swimming with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. He then went on to start a yacht delivery company, delivering yachts around the New Zealand coast and throughout the oceans of the world.
Mat has spent many years working in the Marlborough region and has gained local knowledge of the areas flora and fauna and historical interests. As a qualified skipper he holds a current first aid certificate, ocean navigation certificates and has acquired many thousands of hours on the ocean.
